The Public Complaints Commission Of Nigeria 'Unveils New Toll Free Numbers'


Public Complaint Commission (PCC) yesterday announced its expansion of the integrated Internet platform cum additional toll free numbers unto which Nigerians could lodge their complaints from any part of the country.

There was disclosed at a press briefing in Abuja by the organisations Chief Commissioner, Mr Emmanuel Ogbile.

The calling on Nigerians to feel free and make use of the complaint portal, The Chief Commissioner noted that the organisation has not been in the light mainly because many Nigerians do not know of its existence even as most of its cases come from the masses who seem not to make headlines.

He said in his words, “I will like to seize this opportunity to implore members of the public to avail themselves of the cost free services of the Commission.”

Toll free numbers to call are 080icomplain or 0800426675246 and the E-complaint website is www.pcc.gov.ng.

Giving a statistics of cases so far reported, Ogbile said a huge part of them were inherited from the previous government, adding that the commission was able to resolve over 40,000 cases in the year 2015 and about 9000 between January and April 2016.

The speaking on the effectiveness of the organisation, he revealed there has been a restructuring of late to enable the commission serve Nigerians better, adding that it was also partnering with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to we’ll address issues bothering on corruption.

He also said, “In pursuit of our mandate, we have reached out to and engage some organisations and MDAs for collaboration and support .”
Some Nigerians whose cases of injustices were reported to the commission also showed up to commend it for helping to resolve their problems with their employers.

Cases presented so far reflected injustices of nonpayment of salaries and entitlement at a given time.
