7day ultimatum to occupants goverment schools’ setbacks - Lagos

The Lagos State Government has issued a 7Day ultimatum to illegal occupants along government schools’ setbacks to vacate or face prosecution after.

Executive Chairman of UniLag  Basic Education Board, LSUBEB, Dr. Ganiyu gave the directive during an inspection tour with other members and management staff of the board to some primary schools.

He warned that any defaulter caught after the expiration of the directives would be evicted and prosecuted accordingly, by the state taskforce team.

Sopeyin while decrying the rate of illegal and unauthorised use of public schools’ setbacks by traders and artisans described the action as, “environmental nuisance and a breach of public order.”

Therefore, warned illegal occupants that it was not going to be business as usual, hence, the state government, through SUBEB was determined to make the environment of public primary schools more conducive for qualitative education.

He wondered why traders and artisans should constitute themselves into environmental nuisance without due consideration to the grave consequences of their actions.

Sopeyin also called on the management of public schools to avoid wastages assuring that the inspection exercise would be continuous.

Schools visited include: Gbagada Primary School, Gbagada, Ajidagan Primary School, Gbagada and Layi Oyekanmi Primary School, Mushin, across the metropolis.
